In exercise of the powers conferred by section 133 and 135 of the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, the Government of Andhra Pradesh, vide G.O.Rt.No.146, dated 6th August, 2026, has notified the final Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026. The Rules supersede the previous rules/provisions relating to specified labour laws, subject to savings in respect of things done or omitted to be done before such supersession. The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), has issued Circular F.No. P-14011/2/2026-BFT-II dated 04.08.2026, regarding Implementation of New Insured Person (IP) Registration Functionality in ERP for registration of employees under the Employees State Insurance Scheme. The Ministry of Labour and Employment vide Press Release ID: 2293889 dated 3rd August, 2026, published information regarding eShram portal (eshram.gov.in) which was launched by the Central Government on 26th August, 2021 for creation of a comprehensive National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW) including platform workers, migrant workers etc. The e-Shram portal registers the unorganised workers including gig and platform workers and provides them a Universal Account Number (UAN) on a self-declaration basis. The Ministry of Labour and Employment vide Press Release ID: 2293891 dated 3rd August, 2026, published information regarding Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan scheme which was launched in February, 2019 in order to provide old age protection to the workers of the unorganised sector. This is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme. Under the scheme, a monthly assured pension of Rs. 3000 is provided to the unorganised workers after attaining the age of 60 years. Ministry of Labour and Employment issued Press Release ID: 2289945 dated 27th July, 2026 giving information regarding the initiatives taken by the ESIC for the expansion of healthcare facilities across the country to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, improve access to quality medical services and enhance social security benefits for ESI beneficiaries. These include enhancement of bed strength, procurement of advanced medical equipment, establishment of ICU/HDU facilities, operationalisation of new hospitals and dispensaries, upgradation of digital platforms for OPD appointments, Aadhaar-based authentication for delivery of benefits, collaboration with Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) for providing secondary and tertiary healthcare services where ESIC facilities are not adequately available.
